Dr. Michael Volkert attended Pennsylvania State University where he received a Bachelor Of Science in Neuropsychology. He received his medical diploma from Temple University School of Medicine and went to complete his adult psychiatric residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. He then completed fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where he served as Chief Fellow. He is dually board certified in both adult and child psychiatry.

Upon completion of fellowship, he was hired at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where we worked in the Center for Management of ADHD, where he was engaged in patient care as well as multiple initiatives to increase both patient access and quality of treatment.

He has spoken at both the local and national levels on topics including autism spectrum disorder, challenges encountered by transitional-aged youth, imposter syndrome, anxiety disorders, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

He has a dynamic and empathetic approach that focuses on challenges and opportunities for growth. He understands that the patients whom he treats have rich and complex inner lives and may not always fit neatly into discreet diagnostic criteria. He is eager to work with you and your family to help you enjoy fuller and more satisfying lives.
